Well its rare – at least for me – to get a good give & take match going (especially against someone of equal size and capability), since both have to love the hold and have a high tolerance as well. But those are the most gratifying and exciting types of challenges to be found.

Its one reason why weight classifications exist in contact sports today: neither party has an overwhelming advantage over the other. So the intensity builds as the outcome can go either way.

When that rare opportunity comes around, its best to take full advantage of it while it last. Even if it does mean leaving your torso with multiple sore spots and bruises. The good news is, that unlike face bruises, you can easily cover them up unless you want them to be noticed.

As far as I'm concerned, the hand/finger impressions are all the better for a lasting memory of the event.

Those "deep tissue" pec claw is the best kind. If its not the full application clamp, why bother? I like to leave no fibers unbroken.

I always imagine the SAS Claw Engine Picker in a car junk yard when I'm applying pec claw.
