As an old guy i've had to learn how to NOT hurt myself. A few things to keep in mind:
1. always warm up with very light weights first - this not only warms the muscle but lubricates the joint - where tendons SLIDE
2. pay attention to form. Some angles impinge tendons more than others. I have to be really careful o curls due to biceps tendon bursitis where it passes through the shoulder joint.
OTOH, in general, once i'm fully warm and pumped, i can do almost anything.

OK I tried standing bicep curls, no twist of arm, straight curls. Cold no warm up, reasonable form but left was a bit shitty at the end.
Was amazed at left, I got 50 reps right, 50 reps left. At 10kg! I'm pumped now, I can feel yesterday's soreness too. I might just get into this haha! I Also had 3.5 hours no gi wrestling last night, should keep me fit! Bring it on
Strength (at the gym - curl machine - both hands): 65kg x 10 repeats for 3 sets
(curl machine - one hand): 32kg x8 for 3 sets
Endurance: Single arm barbell standing at 10,2 kg
Right: 24x
Left: 28x
(Did this the day after training arms at home, so have to repeat this after a longer pause for better results)
In the Sheets isn't the score 50 50 standing bicep curls from Legflexxxer and also not standing hammercirls from him with 41 reps right and 53 reps left by 10kg
I can do my curls tomorrow when back in my apartment.
The sheet is updated.
We should all keep trying to match SDgrappler, or at least improve our own positions.
Go heavier, go lighter and pump out more reps. Whatever it takes!
Damn, I was thinking of having a day to rest today before trying the Concentration Curls with 10.2Kg but drahtman just took my top ranking. Now I have to try it again today!
I guess it doesn't matter what weight is used if we are using the total weight pushed/pulled to determine the leader 🏆

Guys, I added Legflexxers results to the spreadsheet. I also added pictorial guide to the exercise so we are all on the same page.
I added a second sheet for the Standing Bicep Curl, again with a picture showing this and copied Lakul's results to that. Now he is the only one of us to have attempted that test so a new challenge is set. Lakul: please verify that this is what you did. Then the rest of us will try.
Maybe if we get a few other suggestions for dumbbell exercises we can not only have competitions for each exercise separately, but a combined one where you do as many of every exercise in turn as possible (I suggest that the order is flexible, but only one set of each exercise and no rest in between). What do you guys think?
Here is something we can try...
Here is a challenge for you...
At the very least it will be a good workout....
It consists of basic exercises but lots of them...
1- Sit-ups... 200 total must be completed in no more than 3 sets.
-5 minute rest period...
2- Push-ups...150 total must be completed in no more than 3 sets.
-5 minute rest period... biceps and chest are burning by this time
3- Pull-ups... 75 total must be completed in no more than 3 sets.
-5 minute rest period...
4- Preacher/ bicep curls... 75 total weight being 1/2 your body weight and must be completed in no more than 3 sets.

Sounds extremely ambitious. Even if I had access to somewhere to do pulls ups I don’t think I could do one after all those push-ups (I think 50 is probably a target for me as I haven’t been to the gym for decades).

I just rechecked my weights and must apologise to the group. The dumbbell I used was 9.2Kg. I tried the test again and improved my score. Maybe I have a few more reps, but this effort is - I think - close to the best I can do.
Not lifted a weight for 2.5 years so thought I'd try. Got a imbalance, always have, lifted cold no warm up. A slight pause for a few secs on last couple of reps. Right 44, left 32, all at 10kg.
I could smash this with some training! Best right arm yet 😉
Here are my results...
20lbs or 9.1kg
Right 9.1 x 32 reps = 290kg
Left 9.1 x 35 reps = 317kg
Total reps performed 67
Total weight moved 607kg

Also, concentration curls or supinated curls? A supinated curl is starting the lift as a hammer curl and then twisting the wrist up as you raise the weight up to the top of the movement.

18/9/2019 21:27Guys, I added Legflexxers results to the spreadsheet. I also added pictorial guide to the exercise so we are all on the same page.
I added a second sheet for the Standing Bicep Curl, again with a picture showing this and copied Lakul's results to that. Now he is the only one of us to have attempted that test so a new challenge is set. Lakul: please verify that this is what you did. Then the rest of us will try.
Maybe if we get a few other suggestions for dumbbell exercises we can not only have competitions for each exercise separately, but a combined one where you do as many of every exercise in turn as possible (I suggest that the order is flexible, but only one set of each exercise and no rest in between). What do you guys think?

Perhaps we can involve hammercurls sitting and standing position. So we would make always biceps curls like the topic says.

1st go at standing hammer curls this morn. 41 reps right. 53 left (weird!) at 10kg. Took a vid of right too.
Aching elbows now 3 days of doing this in a row cold!

Here is something we can try...
Here is a challenge for you...
At the very least it will be a good workout....
It consists of basic exercises but lots of them...
1- Sit-ups... 200 total must be completed in no more than 3 sets.
-5 minute rest period...
2- Push-ups...150 total must be completed in no more than 3 sets.
-5 minute rest period... biceps and chest are burning by this time
3- Pull-ups... 75 total must be completed in no more than 3 sets.
-5 minute rest period...
4- Preacher/ bicep curls... 75 total weight being 1/2 your body weight and must be completed in no more than 3 sets.

Sounds extremely ambitious. Even if I had access to somewhere to do pulls ups I don’t think I could do one after all those push-ups (I think 50 is probably a target for me as I haven’t been to the gym for decades).
Not sure I can do one of half my body weight.

I just rechecked my weights and must apologise to the group. The dumbbell I used was 9.2Kg. I tried the test again and improved my score. Maybe I have a few more reps, but this effort is - I think - close to the best I can do.

Not lifted a weight for 2.5 years so thought I'd try. Got a imbalance, always have, lifted cold no warm up. A slight pause for a few secs on last couple of reps. Right 44, left 32, all at 10kg.
I could smash this with some training! Best right arm yet 😉
